Mushroom Hunting

I often look at my baby's clothes and think that certain elements would be great to use as inspiration for a layout, certain colour combinations or motifs etc. When i saw this baby blankie toy in the shop earlier this week i fell in love with the colours used, so i had to buy it for my baby boy. I soon got to thinking that the quadrant design would also be perfect to use as a base for a layout. And so as soon as i had time i created this layout!

I went through my stash and found four papers that closely matched the toy - Yellow plaid was a B side from a LilyBee Double Dutch paper, Red pokerdot was from EchoPark, some lined Kraft cardstock from Papermania and some Bazzil cardstock for the teal colour. I loved the little mushroom motief, and thought it would match perfectly with photos taken during our Mushroom Hunt last October half term. I hand drew three mushrooms on scraps of paper and card and paper pieced then together. I added some other scraps of paper from MME behind the photos (which i matted in AC brown card), then added some washi tape before adding my mushrooms with foam dots. The title and date is made up of Thickers and some old Sassafrass stickers. I finished it off with some brown and cream sequins. Lastly i added a few tags at the top corner, which was also inspired from the toy (though i managed to cut them off in my photo above!).
